Student Project
For this project an interactive travel guide was fully designed and illustrated on behalf of Berlitz (language education company), in association with the Beijing Tourism Administration. The chosen landmark was the Forbidden City (Beijing).
The aim of the brief was to create a series of fully illustrated and interactive pages (no photographs allowed) for a Berlitz interactive digital travel guide, designed for tablet use. The beauty and distinctiveness of the Forbidden City was highlighted by hand-rendered typography.
Brush calligraphy was also used for the illustrations. Some of the illustrations were pencil drawn and personal photographs and items were used to add texture to the elements in order to connote the timelessness of the beautiful landmark.
